Conference for young scientists - 'Global Scientific Challenges: Perspectives from Young Scientists'
As part of its 75th anniversary celebrations,
As part of its 75th anniversary celebrations, ICSU is organizing a conference for young scientists that will allow them to discuss some of today�s important scientific challenges in a multidisciplinary and international environment. Participants in this conference, which will take place in Lindau in Germany from 4 to 6 April 2007, will be nominated and sponsored by ICSU Members and Interdisciplinary Bodies around the world.
The conference, �Global Scientific Challenges: Perspectives from Young Scientists�, will bring together about 200 young scientists and will address the following topics:
1. International cooperation,
2. Transdisciplinary collaboration,
3. Public engagement,
4. Science for policy,
5. Scientific freedom and responsibilities,
6. Science and the private sector.
TThe aim is to include scientists who work in a variety of different settings, including universities, government laboratories, industry, science policy and management, and science communication. The working language of the conference is English.
