''Energy Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection in the Euro-Atlantic Area'', NATO International School of Azerbaijan, DL - May 31, 2007

This summer NATO International School of Azerbaijan is celebrating its fifth anniversary. From NATO Summer School for local students in 2003, NISA has been internationally recognized as an experienced institution on Euro-Atlantic issues. It is enough to mention that since 2003 six NISA sessions were attended by more than 200 participants. The geography of NİSA alumni vary from USA to Pakistan covering NATO member countries, Partnership for Peace nations and Middle East. They discussed various subjects related to the area located around the Three Seas (Caspian, Black and Mediterranean), which is of special importance for NATO.

NISA Summer Session will be rich in program with plenary sessions, working groups, practical site visits, round table and simulation game. Participants will be able to raise critical questions related to themes of the session during the meetings with invited experts and key governmental officials. The social program, including the intercultural evening will be the unforgettable part of the program. Participants are kindly asked to contribute to this evening with their traditional clothes, music, dances, drinks and sweets.

Participants� Profile:
Participants can be young politicians, young researchers and scientists working on security and related issues and mass-media representatives.

Participants should be fluent in English, under the age of 35 and Nationals of NATO member states, Partnership for Peace countries, Mediterranean Dialogue and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative countries.

Financial procedures:
NISA will provide scholarships to cover the expenses related to the local transportation, accommodation, meals as well as the social program during the event dates. Limited funds are also available to provide reimbursement of the travel expenses of some qualified participants. There is no participation fee. The financial assistance requests for travel expenses will be considered individually.

Application procedures:
Application must include the application form, detailed CV and a 1000-word paper on �Energy Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection in the Euro-Atlantic Area�. The paper must reflect applicant's own writing and original thinking and be sent to the following e-mail address: [email protected].

Incomplete applications will not be accepted for selection.
The deadline for the application submission is May 31, 2007. Only selected candidates will be notified by e-mail on June 4, 2007.
